Hello! We’re Amy and Alberto. We came to London in January 2010 expecting to stay for a little while. The city won us over, and we’re still here and spending our weekends exploring its streets, museums, markets and parks with our two London-born children.
Our family has Spanish and English roots, and London is home. On PlanTripLondon we share the routes we’ve walked, places we’ve enjoyed and practical details that help you plan your own visit.
About us
Amy
I was born in Madrid and I’m a vet. Alongside my work with small animals in London, I write much of our London content and answer readers’ questions. After all these years, I still go out with a camera and the excitement of someone seeing the city for the first time.
Alberto
I’m from Murcia and work in marketing and design. I take many of the photos for our guides, work on the look of the site and speak with the attractions and brands we feature.
Why we decided to create Plantrip® London
The idea began a few months after we moved to London. Friends were coming to stay, but we couldn’t take time off for every day of their visit. Amy drew a route on a paper map so they could explore several neighbourhoods for themselves.
We also spent weeks looking into the best way to book the London Eye, a sightseeing bus and other attractions without wasting money or time. Once our friends had gone home, it seemed a shame to keep all that planning to ourselves.
We started sharing our discoveries: the big sights, quieter corners and the routes we made for family and friends. That same approach guides PlanTripLondon today. We think about what fits into one day, what is nearby and which details you need before you set off.

We’re still discovering London every week. Our children have helped us see a different side of the city, from hands-on museums and playgrounds to musicals, parks and family-friendly places to eat. We also love unexpected details, such as the hidden ears and noses around Soho and the pergola at Hampstead Heath.
