Where to Store Luggage in London

If you are visiting London and, like us, don’t enjoy walking around with your bags while you wait for your flight, then you may want to find out where to store luggage in London.

This may happen on the day you arrive to London, you may arrive early and be unable to check in at the hotel or you may simply want to explore some of London before heading to your hotel.  You may also find this is a solution for you on the last day of your trip if for example you have to leave the hotel in the morning and the flight does not leave until late… Those hours are much better spent without dragging suitcases around,  especially if you are going to use public transport to get from one place to another.

For this reason, after several people have asked us where to safely! store luggage in London, we are going to explain in this article all the options available.

    3 Left Luggage Offices
    3.1 Victoria Coach Station

    4.2 Westfield Stratford City
5 Cloakrooms at museums and galleries
    6 Self-storage for longer periods

    Storing luggage at the hotel

Usually, most hotels will keep your luggage at the reception, or they may have a specific room for this if you ask them. Hotels in big cities are used to this, so if the hotel location is convenient, I would first consider this option. Most hotels will do this for free, and others will charge a small fee to store your luggage.

    LuggageHero: storage locations across London

LuggageHero lets travellers leave bags with participating local businesses such as hotels, cafés and shops. The main advantage is the number of locations across central London, so you can search close to your accommodation, a station or the area you plan to visit.

    How to book:

    • Visit LuggageHero and search by address or London area.
    • Compare the exact location, opening hours, bag-size rules, reviews and total price. These vary between hosts.
    • Book and pay online, then keep the confirmation on your phone to show when you arrive.

Our tip is to choose a location with several recent reviews and make sure its closing time leaves plenty of time to collect your bags. If you want storage near a station, check whether the listing is actually inside the station or a short walk away.

    Left Luggage Offices

There are also left luggage offices in train and bus stations.

    Victoria Coach Station

Victoria Coach Station has a staffed left-luggage facility and you do not need a coach ticket to use it. It is about an 8–10 minute walk from Victoria railway and Underground stations. The facility is inside the coach station, opposite the ticket office.

Official tariffs, last checked 29 September 2026:

    • Up to 1 hour: £2 per item.
    • 1–3 hours: £5 per item.
    • 3–6 hours: £7.50 per item.
    • 6–24 hours: £10 per item.
    • Each additional 24-hour period: £6 per item.

Address: Victoria Coach Station, 164 Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1W 9TP. Check the TfL facilities page for current opening times before travelling.

    London train stations

There are no general self-service luggage lockers at London Underground stations. Several mainline stations instead have staffed left-luggage offices operated by Excess Baggage, including King’s Cross, St Pancras, Euston, Paddington, Waterloo, Liverpool Street, Victoria and Charing Cross.

Prices and opening hours now vary by station and length of storage, so an old city-wide tariff can be misleading. Use the operator’s live locations page to check the exact station, hours and quote. You can normally pre-book online or pay at the staffed outlet on the day, subject to capacity.

    Cloakrooms in Shopping Centres

Both Westfield shopping centres offer cloakroom services where you can store luggage.

    Westfield London

Westfield London in Shepherd’s Bush has a cloakroom at Lift Lobby 2 on Level -2. The current prices are £6 for a small item, £8 for a medium item and £10 for a large item.

The published cloakroom hours are Monday–Saturday 10 am–9 pm and Sunday 12 pm–5.30 pm. Check the Westfield London cloakroom page before travelling, especially on bank holidays.

    Westfield Stratford City

The cloakroom is on the Lower Ground Floor next to Costa Coffee. Coats and umbrellas cost £4. Small luggage and handbags cost £6 for up to 4 hours or £8 for 4–24 hours; large luggage costs £8 for up to 4 hours or £12 for 4–24 hours.

There is a strict 15 kg limit per item, the service is subject to capacity, and items must currently be collected by 8 pm Monday–Saturday or 5 pm Sunday. See the Westfield Stratford City terms for the latest details.

    Cloakrooms at museums and galleries

Many London museums and galleries have a cloakroom or lockers for visitors, but they are not a reliable substitute for luggage storage. Large suitcases are often refused, security restrictions vary and you normally need to be visiting the venue. Check the museum’s official bag policy before arriving and use a dedicated storage service for full-size luggage.

    Self-storage for longer periods

If you need to store suitcases, boxes or household items for several days, weeks or months, a self-storage unit may be better value than paying a daily left-luggage rate. Prices depend on the unit size, access arrangements and minimum rental period, so ask for a quote rather than assuming the tourist luggage-storage price applies.

Central London operators include Safestore, Big Yellow and Access Self Storage.

Access Self Storage King’s Cross is at 14–22 Vale Royal, London N7 9AP. It is near King’s Cross rather than directly opposite the station, and it rents storage units from locker size upwards. Check the current opening hours and obtain a quote before going.
