LEGOLAND Windsor Resort is in Windsor, not central London, at Winkfield Road, Windsor, SL4 4AY. It is an easy family day trip from London, but you should allow time for the rail or bus journey as well as the short transfer from Windsor town centre.
The resort combines LEGO-themed rides, shows, play areas and detailed brick-built scenes. This guide explains what to expect, how current ticketing works and the most practical ways to travel from London.
Legoland in London: What to expect in this amazing theme park

You’ll find LEGO-themed rides and huge figures and scenes created with thousands of bricks. The park is particularly well suited to primary-school-age children, although there are attractions for toddlers and some rides for older children too. Check the height restrictions for individual rides before promising a particular attraction.
One of the most popular attractions in the park is MiniLand – a miniature reconstruction of London (which is really big!) All intricately built from Lego, you can walk through some of the most iconic buildings and places in the city such as Big Ben, the London Eye, Tower Bridge, City Hall, St.Paul´s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey. Another one of the biggest attractions at the park is the submarine, where you take to the Lego seas to explore the deep sea.

The theme park is full of green spaces and several restaurants. If you wanted to take a picnic with you, there are tables and chairs to eat at. Some of these are reserved for restaurant guests, but you shouldn’t have a problem finding somewhere to have your own picnic. There is also a huge playground with swings and slides where kids can blow off some steam.
Legoland in London: Opening times
Opening days and hours change through the season, so check the resort’s operational calendar for the date you want to visit. Advance booking is strongly recommended. Ticket prices are date-dependent: at the time of this update, online day tickets start from £32, while the standard same-day gate price is £68.
If you are planning on visiting London in the summer and you are going to spend a couple of days at Legoland, we would advise bringing swimwear for the kids. There is an area in the park with water attractions and fountains that they can run through, and it´s great fun!
Seasonal events and Christmas activities vary from year to year. Check the resort’s events calendar and the exact inclusions in your ticket before planning a Santa visit or other festive activity.
Reduce queueing with Fastrack
Queues can be long at weekends and during school holidays. LEGOLAND now sells several paid Fastrack options for selected rides. Availability is limited and the included rides and level of access depend on the product, so compare the current options before booking rather than assuming every attraction is covered.

How to get to Legoland Windsor
LEGOLAND is outside London in Windsor. The local bus ride from Windsor town centre takes about 10–15 minutes, so it can be possible to combine the resort with Windsor Castle, although doing both properly in one day is ambitious.
Reach Legoland by public transport
Getting there by train
To get to Legoland Windsor by train you have two options:
- From London Paddington: take a Great Western Railway service to Slough and change there for Windsor & Eton Central. The quickest journeys are usually around 30–40 minutes, but this is not a direct train.
- From London Waterloo: South Western Railway runs direct services to Windsor & Eton Riverside. The journey is usually just under or around 1 hour.
From either Windsor station, walk for about 3 minutes to the stop by Windsor Parish Church and take Green Line bus 702 or 703 to the resort; the bus journey is about 10 minutes. The local bus is chargeable and is not operated by LEGOLAND. Windsor is outside the London fare zones, so do not expect a London Travelcard or Oyster card to cover this part of the journey.
You can buy rail tickets at the station or compare journey times and fares online with Trainline. Check the full itinerary carefully: Paddington journeys require a change at Slough.
Getting there by bus
Green Line route 702 runs directly between London Victoria and LEGOLAND, normally hourly. It is separate from the park ticket, so check the current timetable before travelling. Some tour operators also sell return transport with park admission; for example, this Golden Tours package, when available. Check exactly what the package includes before buying.

Getting there from the airport
From Heathrow Terminal 5, Green Line route 703 runs to LEGOLAND via Slough and Windsor. From other Heathrow terminals, first transfer to Terminal 5 or plan a rail/taxi connection. Road journey times vary considerably with traffic.
Gatwick is much farther away and has no simple direct public-transport link to the resort. Allow substantially more time than a London-airport transfer and check a live journey planner for your arrival time.
Staying at Legoland Windsor
One of the most popular options when you spend a couple of nights in Legoland is to stay in one of the park´s themed hotels. Or you can stay a little further away in a hotel in the town of Windsor.
LEGOLAND Windsor now has three themed accommodation areas: the LEGOLAND Resort Hotel, Castle Hotel and Woodland Village. Guests in these official accommodations may receive Early Ride Time from 9.30am on selected rides, but the attractions offered and eligibility can change. Breakfast, park tickets and other benefits depend on the short-break package, so confirm the inclusions before paying on the official holiday website.
A second day in the park is not an automatic hotel benefit. LEGOLAND sometimes runs a second-day-free offer for eligible packages and dates; only rely on it when it appears in the package you book.
Woodland Village offers woodland-themed lodges and glamping-style accommodation. See the current options on the official accommodation page.
Legoland Windsor Resort Hotel
The Legoland Windsor Resort Hotel has a dragon at the entrance that welcomes you by blowing smoke through its nose at you. In the reception you will also be greeted by many lego characters. The adventure starts in the rooms, where the kids have to look for the treasure that is hidden somewhere in the room, by searching for clues to unlock a box where the hidden treasure awaits.

Legoland Castle Hotel
The Castle Hotel is an impressive Lego castle where the rooms are awaiting little knights in armour. There is also a treasure hunt that little ones will need to work out how to find their gifts. Each room also has an Xbox to keep them happy after a long day at the park.

Hotels in Windsor
Another possibility is to stay in Windsor and use Green Line route 702 or 703 from the stop by Windsor Parish Church; the ride to the park is about 10–15 minutes. If time allows, Windsor Castle and the riverside make a worthwhile addition to the trip.
Here are a few options for where to stay:
- Park Farm Bed and Breakfast: Located between Legoland and the city of Windsor, to enjoy a home from home experience at an authentic British B&B.
- The Rutlands Bed and Breakfast
- The Duke’s Retreat: A hotel in downtown Windsor.
- Sir Christopher Wren Hotel Spa: This hotel with a spa is located near the Eton Riverside train station overlooking the River Thames.
